# Customers and verification

> Link chat identities to Perfect Panel usernames so order actions stay safe.

**Customers** are the chat identities your system knows. Link each one to the correct Perfect Panel username before expecting order commands to work.

## Ownership principle

Order actions only run when:

1. The sender is linked to a panel username, and
2. That username owns the order they referenced.

If either check fails, the request is denied. That is expected and protects other customers' orders.

## Link a customer

    In the system sidebar, click **Customers**.

  <Step title="Add or edit">
    Create a customer or open an existing one.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the username">
    Enter the exact Perfect Panel username for that WhatsApp or Telegram identity, then save.
  </Step>

New senders may also be asked in chat for their username the first time. You can still pre-link VIP numbers from **Customers**.

## Trusted senders

**Trusted Senders** is an allow list for numbers you trust more than normal customers. Use it sparingly for internal or VIP access. Prefer normal customer linking for everyday order commands.
